Winfried F. Schmiedberg, age 89, of Pittsburgh, passed away August 25th, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Ursula Schmiedberg; loving father of son, Stefan (Rachel) Schmiedberg; proud grandfather of Maximilian and Lillianna Schmiedberg; son of the late Karl and Frieda Schmiedberg. He is also survived by many friends and neighbors.

Winfried was a mechanical engineer who had a long and storied career in the iron and steel industry, was a stand-out soccer player in Germany and youth coach that positively influenced the lives of many players under his tutelage over the years. He also was an adept painter with oils and watercolors, he enjoyed painting of flowers and landscapes.
