William R. Vilsack, 81, of West View, PA, passed away on October 10, 2024 after a brief illness, surrounded by family. Bill was born on October 16, 1942, and after graduating from North Hills High School married Gloria Jean (Hiner).

He sweetly referred to her as 'Deals' as he appreciated her ability to get things done by 'wheeling and dealing' Ater 34 years, Bill retired from the Army Reserves 316th Sustainment Command in Coraopolis. His time serving was marked by his unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic. Upon retirement, he spent his free time cruising on his motorcycle, enjoyed camping, loved watching movies and was an avid Steelers fan. Many beloved pets were spoiled rotten in the Vilsack home over the years. Friends teased that they 'hoped to be reincarnated as a Vilsack family pet" because it meant they would be loved wholly.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria and 3 daughters: Kelly (Meyer), Tracy (Blum) and Christy (Balkovitz) and 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Kassie, Ryan, Logan and Ava.
