Obituary

William D. Imbrogno, age 71, of Allison Park, PA passed away on February 7, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.  He was the beloved husband to Susan Imbrogno; proud father to Jason Imbrogno (Lindsey) and Gregory Imbrogno (Alexandra); and dedicated grandfather to Will, Anna, Nicky, David, and Jack.  He was the son of Betty Imbrogno (nee Tarr) and the late Anthony Imbrogno and brother to Joseph Imbrogno (the late Cheryl), Charles Imbrogno (Paula), Toni Roof (Walter), Sandra Johnson (Edward), and Jeanne Imbrogno (Louie).  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bill attended Duquesne University where he met the love of his life, Sue.  The pair had two sons and settled into their home in Allison Park where they lived happily for 45 years.  Bill was a doting and engaged father, coaching many of his sons' sports teams and always encouraging academic excellence.  The family loved watching Pittsburgh sports and taking trips to the Jersey Shore and North Carolina beaches, and they did that often. Bill supported Sue in her passion for showing agility dogs and the couple raised several champion show dogs together.

A skilled handyman, Bill had a gift for fixing almost anything, and he found great joy in helping his sons and daughters-in-law with home improvement projects. In retirement, Bill and Sue became "snowbirds," escaping the cold Pittsburgh winters to enjoy the warmth of Alabama, where Jason and his family live. There, Bill formed close friendships and became affectionately known to the neighborhood kids as "Coach Pap" by coaching his grandsons' teams.  When back in Pittsburgh, Pap loved attending his grandkids' soccer games, dance recitals, and swim lessons. He was always the first to volunteer for fun—whether it was playing in the sand at the beach, getting drenched by a water balloon, or having a catch.  Bill was a dependable, patient, easy-going, and lovable man who touched the hearts of everyone around him and will be deeply missed.
