Born to Michael and Carmella Di Iorio in Pittsburgh PA. on October 2, 1924. She passed of natural causes at the age of 100 in Pittsburgh PA on March 28, 2025.

She was the 23rd of 24 siblings all born to the same parents. She raised 6 children, had 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Violet loved the water. She was an avid swimmer and outdoor adventurer who was not afraid of new challenges. Most considered her a free spirit, an eccentric, who always chose her own path and made it work. As a hard working single mom, Violet will be remembered for raising her children with love and the Golden Rule, treat others as you would like to be treated.

She was faithful to God everyday of her life. However if coffee was a religion, it would have been a close call! Violet was a humble person who always encouraged others to follow their dreams, insisting that with God at their side they could accomplish anything and be anybody.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw, on Tuesday April 1st at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to your local YMCA or Children's swim center. She was a swim instructor/ lifeguard and would be happy to know that others were encouraging all young people to take the opportunity to learn to swim.
