IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Allen
Cunningham
February 27, 1941 – July 16, 2023
Thomas Allen Cunningham, 82, of Mars, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born on February 27, 1941, in Ambridge, PA, son of the late Thomas L. and Elizabeth (Krell) Cunningham.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Emerick, Susan M. Volponi, and his grandson, Jerry Proffitt Jr.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Tripodi) Cunningham; his children, Veronica (Melissa) Cunningham, Tom (Monica) Cunningham, Kristen (John) Race, Shawn (Shelley) Cunningham, and Steve (Abby) Cunningham; nine grandchildren, Ben, Kyle, Chelsea, John Thomas, Emma, Mia, Tanner, Greyson, Walker; three great grandchildren, Harper, Kroy, and Sawyer and one sister, Mary Ann Stroupe.
Tom was born in Ambridge, PA, the prince among 3 sisters. He wore his Bulldog football uniform with pride and graduated from Freedom Area High School. He had fond memories of "the farm" and often told stories of his best 4-legged friend, Brownie growing up. Tom had a successful career in the printing industry where the switchboard operator connected him with his future wife Jackie. After moving to Cleveland, the couple settled back in Pittsburgh where they raised 5 beautiful children in Shaler Twp.
Tom had a tool for everything. He could often be found tinkering with anything that needed fixed (or not), removing critters from his garden, and always refilling the bird feeders. He spent free time watching the History Channel until it was time for late night snacks of jellybeans and ice cream. He loved fishing and the outdoors and had choice words for the Blue Whale taken on frequent camping trips. Always extra early for events, Tom was a dedicated man of his word. Rain or shine, you could always find him at a ballfield cheering on his grandchildren- an honorary Ram Fan. His smile was contagious, he loved his family fiercely, and he was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's biggest fan!
