Russell Charles Kunkel Sr., 57, of Pittsburgh (Penn Hills), PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Russell was born Tuesday, February 11, 1964, in Pittsburgh, a son of Joseph Richard Kunkel (Linda) and the late Loretta Jean (Kennedy).

In addition to his mother, Russell was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and Darryl Kunkel.

Russell proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed painting model ships, camping, traveling, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a "tinkerer" who loved to spend time in the garage and could fix anything. Russell was sharp and witty with a distinctly charming sense of humor, as well as a faithful man who never wavered in his relationship with God. Above all, he was a loving Fiancé, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Krysty Kunkel, Russell Kunkel Jr., and Landyn Kunkel; Fiancé, Jacqueline Forrester; stepchildren, Alexxys Clutter and Jessyka Lydon; grandchildren, Waylon, Cash, Xyyn, and Esther; siblings, Jan Kunkel, Nick Kunkel, Jay Kunkel (Mary), and Shari Kunkel; sister-in-law, Dianne Burkhart Hancher; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received in the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA, on Sunday, January 9, from 12 to 4 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Miller Officiating.  Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion.

Interment will be privately held in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA.
