Raymond J. Kirstein III, age 73, of Sharpsburg, formerly of East Liberty, was called home on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy battle with MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray & Dolly Kirstein, his sister Lorraine Kirstein and his brother-in-law Dan Sagi. He is survived by his remaining siblings, Verlyn (Nick) DiCaprio, Tom (Carol) Kirstein and Diane Sagi; his nieces and nephews, Michelle (Gary) Kaufman, Michael (Julie) DiCaprio, Nikole (Tim) Schutzman and Ray (Morgan) Sagi; along with many great nieces and nephews.

Ray worked as a CNA at St. Margaret's Hospital for over 30 years, where he enjoyed helping other. In his free time, he liked reading books, true crime, watching sports and going to the beach. On family vacations you could often find him combining all of his passions by reading a true crime book (or any) on a beach chair by the ocean.

Ray was an avid sports fan, and his knowledge of all sports knew no bounds. He was always ready with a statistic when he was watching. He dabbled in basketball during March Madness, but his favorite sports were Football, Baseball and Hockey, specifically Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. Ray was fortunate enough to have his name picked for Steelers tickets a few weeks ago through Make-A-Wish. He attended with his friend Barb, who submitted his name for the game. In his final outing on October 12 ^th , he got to see the Steelers trounce the Browns 23-9. GO STEELERS!

Friend and family will be received, Tuesday October 28, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw PA 15116, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday October 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment at St. Augustine Cemetery.
