Obituary

Nicholas Lugin, 95, of Glenshaw, died peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2022. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Kopistansky) Lugin; and stepson of the late Andrew Shaytar. Nick was a veteran of World War II and retired from Mine Safety Appliance (MSA). Nicholas was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Cherishing his memory are his children, Adele Dott (Phil), Nancy Friedman (Peter), Nicholas Lugin (Jo), Mark Lugin (Diane) and Claire Yeskey (Dan); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, George Shaytar (Nancy); sisters-in-law, Joann Shaytar and Franny Jocuns; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Nicholas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maryann Lugin (Hartung); brothers, Al, Harry, William, Andrew, Michael, John, Steve and Jim; and sisters, Esther, Florence and Ann. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 28 , at ELOISE B KYPER FUNERAL HOME, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29 , at St. Bonaventure Church, Glenshaw. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Elfinwild Home Meal Ministries, 3200 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.
