In loving memory of Michael Brlan, of Gibsonia PA, who passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, September 30, 2024. He was born on March 10, 1942 in New Castle, PA to the late Vera (Nosik) Brlan Tarasek and Michael Aloysius Brlan. He was the step-son of the late Michael Tarasek, and brother of the late Nancy (Tarasek) McConahy. He was also the devoted husband of his late wife, Dawna (Flannery) Brlan.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Michael Rees (Laura) Brlan; daughter, Robyn Vuillermoz; and his beloved grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Brlan and Alec and Sloane Vuillermoz.

Michael and his wife, Dawna, shared 57 years of building a life together and loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.  In his younger years, Michael was known as "Mickey" by his cousins and spent many of his childhood years in Pulaski, PA with his extended family. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1960 and received his Bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University. He earned his Master's degrees from the State University of New York in Biology, and Carnegie Mellon University (MBA). His career was spent in industrial health and safety, as well teaching in his later years. He enjoyed intellectual pursuits, and he could also often be found tending to his yard and gardening.

Visitation will be held from 12-4 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024, with a funeral service immediately following at 4:15 PM, Pastor Debbie Lynch officiating, at Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116. Burial will be at Mt. Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw, PA.
