Marie Rice Nicholson, 86, of Penn Hills, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Paramount Senior Living in Seven Fields.

Marie is survived by her husband of 37 years, James L. Nicholson, her children Monica Rice Mitchell (James) of Alpharetta, Ga., and Megan Rice Cunningham (Thomas) of Pittsburgh, her grandchildren, Lauren Mitchell Volker (Brian), Stephen Mitchell, Ben, Don and Morgan Cunningham, as well as her step children, Jim, Linda and John Nicholson and step grandchild, Chloe, of San Antonio, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lucy and Frank DelMonaco of Forest Hills, Pa., and first husband, Benjamin Rice, to whom she was married for 24 years.
Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid bridge player and loved to travel, having visited nearly every state in the U.S., cruised the Caribbean and toured in Europe.

Friends will be received at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, Pa., 15116 on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00AM for a short gathering that will be immediately followed by a Memorial Service.

The family suggests memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
