IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luciano
Vizzoca
March 8, 1944 – December 24, 2025
Luciano "Lou" Vizzoca, 81, of Harmarville, formerly of Italy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 24, 2025.
Lou is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Vizzoca; children Nick (Marie) Vizzoca of Hampton, PA, Dina Vizzoca of Harmarville, PA, and Debbie (Bill) DePew of Plum, PA; grandchildren Luciano (Luc), Marisa, and Sofia Vizzoca, Billy, and Ella DePew. He is also survived by his brothers Pietro (Vienna) Vizzoca and Tony (Linda) Vizzoca; sisters Clara (the late Adriano) Casciato, Fernanda (Chris) DiNardo, and Anna Masci; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicola and Donata (D'Aquilante) Vizzoca.
Lou was born on March 8, 1944, in Villa Santa Maria, Italy, in the Abruzzo region. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 with his family in search of a better life filled with opportunity. They settled in the South Oakland area of Pittsburgh, known for its strong Italian community, work ethic, and deep devotion to family—values that Lou and his wife instilled in their children.
Lou was a proud employee of Port Authority Transit, now Pittsburgh Regional Transit, for 25 years before retiring in 2000. As an immigrant, he understood the value of hard work, never taking a sick day and making sacrifices to provide for his family.
In retirement, Lou cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy. His strength, dedication, and pride in his wife, children, and grandchildren will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
Lou's wife and daughter, Dina, would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the hospice nurses and staff at Anova Hospice for their unwavering love, kindness, support, and gentle care throughout Lou's health journey. The family will be forever grateful.
Immediate family will gather at Christ the King Parish, St. Joseph Church, 342 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215, on Tuesday, December 30th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a public Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Everyone wishing to attend the Funeral Mass is asked to please meet directly at the church.
