Obituary

Lillian Constantine Grbenick, age 96, of Paradise Road, Milton, Pennsylvania died November 2, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania following a two week illness. She was born April 8, 1920, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Alfredo and Anna DeGregorio Constantine from Termoli, Italy. Lillian was a resident of Allison Park, Pennsylvania prior to moving to the Milton area in 2007 where she enjoyed living in her new country home next to her son Thomas and his family.

Services for Lillian will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016, in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. Visitation for friends and family will be at the Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mount Royal Boulevard beginning at 9 AM; followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 2001 Mount Royal Boulevard; with burial immediately after in Mount Royal Cemetery, 2700 Mount Royal Boulevard.

Lillian is survived by her son Tom and his wife Betsy Grbenick of Milton, Pennsylvania; daughter Judith Grbenick of The Villages, Florida; granddaughters Anna Grbenick of Chicago, Illinois and Mara Grbenick of Portland, Maine; her brother Edward Constantine of Pittsburgh; and by cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Grbenick, born in Trafford, Pennsylvania, who passed away in 2001, and by her brothers Anthony, Daniel, and Victor Constantine formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, New Holland and Jeannette, Pennsylvania, respectively.

After high school, Lilllian found her niche in bookkeeping at the Jeannette Importing Company. She worked briefly in New York City during WW II and worked most of her bookkeeping and tax accounting career as office manager for Jack Landis and Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until she retired in 1985.

Lillian was loved as mom, Aunt Lil and Grandma Lilly. She was an avid reader and kept her personal records and home in impeccable order. Throughout her life, she took great pleasure in Christmas baking, sharing holiday cookies in abundance with family, friends and neighbors. She was a gracious hostess who kept two refrigerators stocked with her home cooked sauces and soups. When not in the kitchen, she enjoyed sewing clothing, costumes, curtains and crafts. She maintained a lifelong love of colored glassware having grown up near glass manufacturing in Jeannette.

Lillian was a kind, loving and industrious individual, a true treasure who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
