It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dan Vacca, age 85, of Pittsburgh, PA. Dan passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Dan resided in Dormont and eventually moved to Shaler Township. After serving in the Navy, he had careers as a Real Estate Broker, Mortgage Loan Originator, Title Insurance Agent, and Settlement Officer. Upon retirement he worked several part time jobs to stay active and engaged in the community. He was a member of the Shaler Township VFW Post #9199 and the Laurel Gardens American Legion Post #80.
He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. When his children were younger Dan also enjoyed coaching little league. He loved baseball and playing poker, working on projects around the home, and helping family, friends, and neighbors whenever possible. He will be dearly missed by his furry canine companion, Toby. He was the son of the late Domenic and Amelia Vacca. Dan was preceded in death by his brother Nicholas and sisters-in law Jennie, Rosemary, Connie, and Linda.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy, of 31 years. He was cherished father of Debra Jones (Paul), William Wood (Terri), Thomas Vacca (Debra), Daniel Vacca (Heidi), Michelle Windsheimer (Dave), and Lindsay Latkovic (Joe). Also survived by grandchildren Danielle, Corey, Kathryn, Sarah (Jonathan), Andrew (Danielle), Ashley, Matthew, Nicole, Daniel, Samantha, Jacob, Joshua, Jayden, Megan, and Kaylin and great-grandchildren Dominec, Arielle and Palmer.
Dan is also survived by his brothers Carmen and Mario, brothers-in-law David, Stephen, Kenneth and sister-in-law Maureen (Skip) in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
