John W. "Jack Thomas, age 88, of Mars, PA entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. John was born on March 11, 1930 in Decatur, IL, Son of the late Roy Martin Thomas and Mary Veda (Fairbanks) Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two brothers, Roy Robert Thomas and Harold Eugene Thomas.
Jack was a man of deep and profound faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He attended Lifepointe Alliance Church and West Bradenton Baptist Church. Previously, he was a member of Grace Church of Harmony and Community Alliance Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also active in home bible studies in various neighborhood and workplace where he led studies with people who sought to learn and grow in their understanding of the scriptures. Jack also sang in a number of choirs and he did a lot of solo work at various churches and ministers. In earlier years, Jack volunteered with the Gideons in their jail ministry where he sang at various prison chapel services. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany with the 4 th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. The majority of his career he worked as the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for Hampton School District. He deeply loved his wife and spent several winters in Florida with her in Bradenton, FL. Jack also enjoyed working his garden, camping with his family, hunting and golfing with his sons and spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife, with whom he spent 67 years, Annabelle (Goss) Thomas; two children, Keith J. Thomas (Karen) and Brad S. Thomas (Janet); seven grandchildren, Tyler Thomas (Katie), Bryan Thomas (Jessica), Kyle Thomas (Rebekah), Adam Thomas, Abby Thomas, Alexis Coven and Danielle Coven; step-sister LaDonna Samples and step-brother James Smiley.
Friends will be received in the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home 2702 Mt Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116 on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 4-8PM and Friday, August 10, 2018, 10-11 AM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 AM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Paul Cope, Pastor at Lifepointe Alliance Church.

Interment will follow in the Mt Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA
