John Leo Petrancosta, Sr., 82, of Glenshaw, passed away November 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Jean; loving father of Dorothy "Dee" (John Cunningham), Lori Kallams (Pete), John, Jr. (Dana); proud grandfather of Justin (Courtney), Sara and Brandon; and great-grandfather of Caden and Kai; son of the late Leo and Marie. He was the loving brother of Margie Manderville (Sonny), the late Angelo Costa (Adele) and Len (Patty). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

John made his living by owning and operating local restaurants, The Cross Keys Inn, The Red Vest and Nickleby's. Nickleby's restaurant, while under the ownership of John and his brother Len, won the Allegheny County Rib Cook-Off. He served as President of both the Western Pennsylvania Chapter and the Pennsylvania State Restaurant Associations.

John loved to water ski and scuba dive. He spent his summers at Conneaut Lake where he taught his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their friends to water ski and drive the boat. He also enjoyed fishing, although he wasn't very skilled at it. He was a weekly volunteer at North Hills Community Outreach Millvale Branch.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116; where a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 10:00AM. Private interment at Mt. Royal Cemetery.

The family requests that no flowers be sent to the funeral home, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the Special Olympics (https://support.specialolympics.org/) in honor of Joe Solinsky and Ann Marie Costa.
