Obituary

John Paul "J.R." Rex Jr., 29, of Indiana Township, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born May 16, 1985, in Pittsburgh, a son of John P. Sr. and Marian Rose Clark Rex. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption, Glenshaw. J.R. attended the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children for 18 years. He is survived by his parents, John P. Sr. and Marian Rose Clark Rex; one brother, Keith C. Rex, of Indiana Township; three sisters, Colleen M. Rex, of Indiana Township, Meredith R. (Phillip) Avolio, of McCandless, and Amber M. (Christopher) Bodle, of Iowa City, Iowa; one niece, Sienna M. Rex; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Elizabeth Nossek Clark and Raymond and Mary Theresa Coholich Rex. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, in the KYPER FUNERAL HOME, 2702 Mt. Royal Boulevard at Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral prayer will take place at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw, with Father John Marcucci officiating. Memorials may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, 201 N. Bellefield Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213; or to St. Mary School, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw, PA 15116.
