John Jarvis, 87, of Pittsburgh, passed away at his home, on Friday, December 1, 2017. John was born on December 17, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA., son of the late Helen Ulevich.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Earlene Jarvis, and a brother, James Jarvis.

John was a sports fan, an accomplished basketball player, and an avid dancer. He was a graduate of Allegheny High School where he still holds the record for points scored. John proudly served in the US Army during the conflict of Korea. He retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory are; his children, John T. Jarvis (Susan), Stephen M. Jarvis (Alicia), Christine Galdes (Don), and Joesph P. Jarvis (Patricia); and his grandchildren, Johnny, Kyle, Samantha, Alexa, Megan, Roy and Jacob.

A visitation will be held at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc., 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA., on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8PM and on Tuesday, December 5 at 10:00AM. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00AM

Interment will be private.
