John S. DeBonis, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 4, 2014. John loved and cherished his bride, Irene, of 61 years, his family and friends. John was a loving, caring, hardworking and dedicated man. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He is our hero and will be dearly missed and remain in our hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, Domenic and Emily (Depasquale) DeBonis; and wife, Irene, John was preceded in death by two siblings, Philomena Mignella and William DeBonis.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Christine Viviano (Geno) of Jacksonville, FL, Cynthia Wisniewski (Leo) of Bridgeville, PA, and John DeBonis (Tammy) of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, Caitlyn Viviano-Knoll (Josh), Justin Viviano, Stefen and Sarah Wisniewski, Andrew and Julie DeBonis; a great granddaughter, Chloe Knoll; three brothers, Nicholas, Albert, and Domenic DeBonis; and a sister Edith Ferraro.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 19 at Madonna of Jerusalem Church of St. Juan Diego Parish 201 Ninth St. Sharpsburg, PA 15215. A luncheon immediately following Mass will be held at Silvioni''s Restaurant, 2125 Babcock Blvd., Pgh., PA 15209. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc.
