Jean Frances Kohler Duerig, age 90, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017. She was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Allentown, daughter of the late Edwin and Katherine Stuart Kohler, and sister of Mary Kohler (deceased). She was the beloved wife of 69 years to Alfred Walter Duerig, Mother to Alfred, Thomas, Kenneth, Charles (deceased), and Paul.

She is survived by her husband Alfred, her four living sons, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four nieces, one nephew, and many loving family members and friends.

Jean was a graduate of Bucknell University, retired Pittsburgh Public teacher, devoted volunteer at local schools and Meals on Wheels, elected chairwoman of the Republican County Committee, violinist in the Pittsburgh Philharmonic, world traveler, and host to families from around the world.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA.

Friends are welcome to celebrate Jean''s life Saturday, April 22, at 11:00 a.m., at BERKELEY HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 517 Sangree Rd., Ross Twp. 15237. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Southwestern Pa.
