Janet O. Ferber, 82, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 17th, 1939, daughter of the late Stephen and Clara Yerkins.

In addition to her parents, her son, Von J. Ferber; life partner and significant other, Vincent Hammill and her sister, Arlene Bauman, preceded Janet in death.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carrie Meinert (Alan); 7 grandchildren, Brittany Ferber, Von S. Ferber, Lydia Ferber, Kala Ferber, Stephanie Meinert, Jeremy Meinert, and Corinne Meinert; 2 sisters, Lorraine Grubic and Carol Tipler ; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was an extremely caring and kind-hearted mother and grandmother. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed going down to the river, spending time on the Katie H and reading books. She relished attending all the family and friend gatherings and greatly enjoyed dancing with her Hun. She will be deeply missed by her close friends and family. Her memories will be cherished forever.

Friends will be received at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116 on Wednesday October 27th, 2021 from 2-8pm. A Funeral service will be held the following day, on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 at 10AM in the funeral home chapel.
