James, age 84 of Shaler Township on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in the loving arms of his wife Michelyn (Mickey).

Jim and Mickey were married 63 years and he leaves behind his 3 girls to mourn his loss; Patricia (Joseph) Coholich, JoEllen and Diane (Gary) Ireland. He was a cherished Pappy to his "lucky 7" grandchildren; Jacob, Daniel, Nathan, Adam, Jocelyn, Andrew, and Christopher. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary (Blakely) Perlinger and his brother, Bill. He is survived by his brother, Jack.

Jim loved that he grew up in Sharpsburg. His family marveled that he could still remember street names and house numbers from when he made the most money as a paperboy.  He was an avid Steelers fan and has been a season ticket holder for over 60 years. Jim retired from the Port Authority as was a loyal member of the White Hats.

His family was his world and they knew it. He was a sweet man and was held in high esteem by many and he never knew it.

The family would like to thank the entire team at Fresenius Kidney Care (Shaler) for their heartfelt kindness and compassionate care for JP.

Family and friends will be received at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4-8pm as well as, Friday, February 3, 2023 from 2-8pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, on Saturday, February 4,  2023, at 10 am, held at the St. Matthew Parish, Holy Spirit Church, 608 Farragut St, Pittsburgh, PA 15209. For those who wish to attend the Funeral Mass, please meet at Holy Spirit Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be given in his memory to North Hills Community Food Bank.
