IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene Rose
Bagosi
February 13, 1930 – November 5, 2020
Irene Rose (Lazar) Bagosi, 90, of Pittsburgh, PA formerly of Ocala, FL, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at home with her family by her side. Irene was born at home in Beaver Falls, PA on Thursday, February 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Miklos Lazar and Gizella (Denes).
In addition to her parents and many family members, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Bagosi and her beloved dachshund Zeke.
Irene and Joe first settled in Ohioville, PA, after they married in 1950. Irene spent the majority if her life as a homemaker. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Her greatest joy was her daughter, Beverly. The family moved to Ocala Florida in 1985, when Joe wanted to get away from the snow. She was an Elder and choir member in the Presbyterian Church of Marion Oaks, FL. Irene was an amazing seamstress who made clothing for Beverly and later sewed hundreds of scrub tops and jackets for her daughter and fellow Nurses at Children's Hospital NICU. She also made dozens of festive tablecloths for holiday celebrations in the South Side Slopes neighborhood that she later called home. She spent years caring for Joe with his diabetes and other health issues. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, which reduced her mobility. In 2014, she moved to Pittsburgh permanently. She remained active and outgoing until the recent Pandemic. She had an army of caregivers who kept her active. She kept her mind active with puzzles and gameshows. Her daughter Beverly and son-in-law Terry made sure that she had a full and active life. She went on many adventures.
Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter, Beverly Bagosi Boggio and son-in-law Terry Boggio, as well as the Boggio Family: Leona, Amy & John Pangburn, and Conor Brennan; the Denes family: Linda, Heather & Mark, Matthew, Caitlyn & Connor, Connie, Tammy & Jamie; the Yount Family: Chester, Brian and Cindy. The family is forever grateful to the caregivers Starr, Denise, Faith, Bernadette, Kathi, Bonita, Annette, Kelly, Susan, Rio, Julie and Dana from Interim Healthcare Pittsburgh, as well as Kelly and the Vitas Healthcare Hospice Team. Many friends and neighbors were a part of #teamirene. Matt, Brad, Tracy, Fr. Don, Mike, Jodi and so many others served as hands on caregivers and helpers. Jill from UPMC Home Healthcare Physical Therapy gave her the courage to move independently. Dr. Skip Olsen resolved her Macular Degeneration a month before her passing. She saw him and his amazing staff every 4-6 weeks. Dr. Jaishree Hariharan was the first to see Irene and treat her as a person, not her disease. Her quality of life was amazing thanks to everyone on #teamirene.
Friends will be received in the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA., on Tuesday, November 10, from 2 to 8 P.M. when a service to honor Irene's life will be held.
Interment will be held privately in Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala, FL.Written tributes and memorials are welcomed and encouraged at www.Kyperfuneralhome.com
