Helen (Szafranski) Luteran entered the Stairway to Heaven, passing away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 6th at the age of 93 years old. It is the end chapter to a wonderful 72 year marriage to the love of her life, John Luteran, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2021.

They both grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh and met at a dance when she was 18 years old and the music never stopped for the next 73 years. After raising her 5 children to school age, she began working side by side with John as bookkeeper and secretary in his various business adventures.

They began their retirement life in 1984 when they both began building the dream home that John had always promised her in Delray Beach, Florida. They would spend the next 35 years enjoying their lives together in the glorious sunshine of Florida. Helen had a 10 year period when she happily worked at the Delray Beach Library where she was able to read many books and sharpen her computer skills.
They danced the night away when they became lifetime members of the American German Club of the Palm Beaches where they loved to socialize and volunteer. Helen served as the secretary and treasurer of the club and both were active members for the highly successful annual Octoberfest Celebration.

The last leg of their journey brought them back home in 2019 to live out their final years with Cindy and Terry in Cranberry Township. They led their lives with devotion to God and the Catholic Faith. In Florida they were members of St. Thomas Moore of the Palm Beaches and upon their return home at St. Killian Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry.
Their lives together was a true love story.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Deborah (J.B. Barentine) Iwanyshyn, Susan Luteran, John (Kathleen) Luteran, Cynthia (Terry) Johnson, Laura (Bill) Long, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw PA 15071. A Blessing Service will be held the following day, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 held in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park.
