Obituary
Glenn Duffield Harlan, age 85 of Pittsburgh, PA., passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of the late James Rubey Harlan and Wilhelmina F. (Wilhelm) Harlan.
He is survived by a close friend and caregiver Cecilia M. Griffith and many other family members and friends.
Throughout his life, Glenn worked as a painter for Smith Decorating. He was a graduate of Drake University and served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Peace Corps, Phi Sigma Tau, and Jumpers over 70, and was a life time member of the AMVETS. Glenn was involved with the Wounded Warriors Project and numerous other charitable organizations. He was also an avid reader and also worked with the Smithsonian Institution.
Glenn''s funeral arrangements are PRIVATE and under the direction of the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA.
