Obituary

Frank J. Scheidler, age 76, of Etna, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on May 21, 1949, Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Frank served in the Vietnam War and later worked with the Army Corps of Engineers. He loved figuring out how things worked and spent a lot of time building and fixing things. He also enjoyed drawing and playing music on his keyboard or guitar. He was curious, determined, and stubborn, but he also liked to laugh, dance, and have fun when the moment felt right.

He valued the small things in life and never took time with family for granted. Being with the people he cared about was the most important thing to him, and he made sure to enjoy those moments fully.

Frank shared a lifelong bond with his wife, Yuk-Ling, and together they raised two children, Frank and Christina (Eric) Brethauer. One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather to Logan, Liam, and Evelyn, who brought him endless happiness.

He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank F. and Bernice Scheidler, and his sister, Margie. He is survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Frank will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, his hands-on curiosity, his stubborn streak, and the quiet way he showed he cared — always ready to have the backs of the people he loved when it mattered most.
