Frank DiLeo, 79, of Glenshaw, PA, passed away peacefully, the morning of Saturday, July 3, 2021, surrounded by his family. Frank was born, March 1, 1942, in Sant' Onofrio, Calabria, Italy, a son of the late Domenico and Marianna (Marasia) DiLeo.
Frank lived in the North Hills area for most of his life. He earned his Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He later became an Art Teacher at North Allegheny Intermediate School, where he retired after 40 years. He was also a founding member of the American Federation of Teachers Union at North Allegheny School District, where his name remains on the charter. He had a passion for art, nature, educating others, traveling, creating new traditions, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lopreiato; and his brothers, Paul and Bruno DiLeo.
He is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and soulmate, of 51 years, Carmen DiLeo; son, Dominic DiLeo; daughters, Carmen (Bob) Hudecek, Paula (Joe) Brannagan and Terri (Kenny) Kieffer; grandsons, Michael, Dylan, Justin, Sam, Matthew, and Jesse; granddaughter, Savannah; sister, Giovanna Griffo; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and uncle who will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Friends and family will be received in the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA, on Wednesday, July 7, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Ursula Church, Allison Park, PA on Thursday, July 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father John Forbidussi as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA
Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Frank.
