IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ellen "Tracey"
Reed (Miller)
June 5, 1964 – November 24, 2020
Ellen "Tracey" Reed (Miller) was called home and gained her angel wings on November 24, 2020. She was born on June 5, 1964, in Pittsburgh PA to the late William F. Doerr and the late Patricia A. Shanahan.
Tracey graduated from Allegheny High School in 1982 alongside her best friend since the first day of their junior year, Richard Reed, whom she would later marry. She first married Paul J. Bordas in December of 1985 and they had two beautiful children who will carry on her legacy, daughter, Brianne N. Bordas and son, Garrett P. Bordas.
Tracey and Paul amicably parted ways after many years and she is survived by her loving husband Richard C. Reed whom she married in May of 2008. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers and their wives; Robert and Phyllis Shanahan, Ronald and Lisa Shanahan, and Randy and Christine Miller; her brother-in-law and his wife, William and Sonja Reed, her sister-in-law Renea Reed, Richard's children; Richard IV, Adrianne, Ashley, and Julian whom she became very close with, and grandchildren; Richard V, Valerie, Ivy, Xavier, Markus, Ryan, Mason, and Adonis.
Tracey took great pride in working as a Registered Nurse after graduating from Sewickley School of Nursing in 1984. She spent the final 10 years of her nursing career doing hospice care and selflessly touching the lives and hearts of so many of her patients and families. Her children and her husband were her pride and joy and her family meant the world to her. She had such a great appreciation for the simplest things in life, such as spending time with her family, long phone conversations with loved ones, and celebrating birthdays because "getting older is not scary, it means you've survived another year and you just never know what life will bring". She was the most thoughtful woman and she loved to find any reason to give random gifts just to show how much she cared. She thoroughly enjoyed going on 18 different cruises with her husband throughout their 12 and a half years of marriage, playing her favorite penny slots at the casino, visiting her children as often as she could and watching Steeler games. You would never see Tracey without her nails and toenails done, her makeup and jewelry on and a huge smile on her face. She loved to dance and sing and was excellent at both, she worried about and put everyone else before herself, and she would drop everything day or night to help her loved ones in need, which is why she made a phenomenal nurse. She was selfless, loving, nurturing, kind and strong. She was an advice giver, a shoulder to cry on, a hand to lend, an ear to listen, a hug to give and love to share. She was everything that a wife, mother, sister, daughter, nana and friend should be, and more. She meant so much to so many people and she will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in our hearts and we will honor her by celebrating her life.
