Edna Dana Cowan , 91, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Jack Cowan and Lilly (Seigel) Cowan.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Edna was preceded in death by her daughter, Elieen Havelock and brother, Arthur Cowan.

Edna is survived by her children, Robert Havelock, and Pamela (Joseph) Falcona; one grandson, Robert Havelock Jr.; one loving furry companion, Clipper "my boy", and grand-dog, Ryder.

Edna "Dana" was so incredibly passionate about school. She earned her BA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 with a double major in psychology and communications, then went on to nursing school, graduated in 1983, and worked in several different facilities, including the Allegheny County Jail.

She loved to play Scrabble and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching good movies, documentaries, and political news stories. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She really enjoyed eating good food and having great conversations with family and friends. And, she loved to shop! However, and most importantly, she loved her children, her family and her good friends; And they all loved her. She left this earthly plane with wonderful memories for us to carry for years to come.

Family and friends will be received at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal, in Glenshaw, PA on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7p.m. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7 p.m., held in the funeral home chapel with Ken Haselrig, officiating.

Interment will be held privately at Mount Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA.
