IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy
Allen
January 20, 1942 – September 22, 2023
Dorothy (Dotty) Mae (Rosenthaler) Allen, 81, of Allison Park, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2023.
Dotty was born on January 20th, 1942 to George & Zelma Rosenthaler in Lawrenceville, PA, graduating from Peabody High School in 1960. She married in 1962 and they had three daughters.
Over the years, she held a variety of jobs but was most successful as a Mom and Grammy, expanding the role through her second marriage. Her accepting and supportive nature was topped by none.
Her adventurous spirit and innate sense of curiosity took her across many states and countries. She loved to spend time with family, was an avid Facebooker keeping up with family, news, politics, celebrities and finding new recipes. She was a great cook and baker, often receiving requests for her treats that were filled with love!
Dotty is predeceased by her parents, four siblings, husband (Bernard W Allen, Sr.) daughter (Lisa Scotty-Krause) and son (Francis Allen). She is survived by her children: Sherri (Joe) Dorn, Janel Scotty (Matthias Baumann), Bernie (Pam) Allen, Ronda Allen and Cindy (Doug) Sachse. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Joshua, Alyssa, Jacqueline, Angelica, Brittany, Spencer, Jonah, Mackenzie, Brittany, Taylor, Lailani, Dusty, Matthew, Zach, Jesse, TJ, Drew and Amy as well as 18 great grandchildren.
Her kindness and positive energy will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
We welcome friends and family at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, pa., on Tuesday, September 26 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 27 at 10 a.m held in the funeral home chapel with Ken Haselrig, officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pittsburgh food bank.
