Doris Ann (Luntz) Marko, age 93, passed away on June 19, 2024 in Wexford, PA. Doris was born on
July 25, 1930 to Helen and Harvey Luntz in Evans City, PA.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack,her son Dean and her brother Lee, and is survived by her sister Betty (Lighthiser) of Zelienople, PA.

As a child, Doris (or Dotsy as she was known to her family) was a self-proclaimed "goody two shoes"
who always had her nose in a book, which led to a lifelong passion for learning and education. She
graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College in 1952 with a degree in elementary education
and worked in the North Allegheny school district for many years as a teacher. She married her
husband Jack in 1954. Despite not-so-secretly hoping for a daughter, she was instead blessed with four
active sons (Dave, Dale, Dan and Dean) who enjoyed playfully teasing her at every opportunity,
leading to some premature gray hairs and the occasional migraine. She was a devoted mother and was
very proud that all of her sons graduated from Penn State.

Doris was a very pleasant woman, well-liked and respected by everyone who knew her. She had a good
sense of humor and liked to laugh at funny things her sons and grandchildren did. She also had a strong
sense of right and wrong and always strived to do the right thing. She enjoyed travel and spending time
with her grandchildren, Maelyn, Emily and Zachary.

The world is an emptier place without our mother and she will be deeply missed. We would like to
express our heartfelt gratitude to Bethany Hospice and the staff in the Memory Care unit at the Waters
of Wexford who provided such great care and support for her as she dealt with dementia in her later
years.

There will be no calling hours and cremation and burial in Mount Royal Cemetery will be held privately by the family.
