Deeann Dugan, 60, of Freemont, Calif., formerly of Avalon, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, in Highland Hospital, Oakland, Calif. She was born May 3, 1954, in Savannah, Ga., daughter of Robert L. Sr. and Dolores Harvey Dugan. Deeann graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in English and art, majoring in medieval studies. She earned her law degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. She was a self-employed lawyer for 35 years, a member of the California Bar Association, worked for the Department of Justice and was also a patent attorney. Deeann is survived by her husband, Ray R. Miller, of Freemont, Calif.; mother, Dolores Harvey Dugan, of Cochranton; brother, Michael Dugan, of Cochranton; nephews, Shane and Sean Dugan, of Sewickley; and sister-in-law, Tina Dugan, of Sewickley. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Dugan Sr.; and brother, Robert L. Dugan Jr. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at the KYPER FUNERAL HOME, 2702 Mt. Royal Boulevard at Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw. Memorials may be made to your local ASPCA chapter.
