Darlene (Freyer) Wheeler, 82, of Hampton Township, PA, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was peacefully called home to be with her Lord on October 9, 2024. Born on February 19, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Marie (Kommraus) and Frederick Freyer, she married the love of her life, Fred, in 1959. Darlene lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. She loved cooking for her family and friends, reading and gardening. A devoted member of Hampton Presbyterian Church, Darlene served in the nursery, and caring for the elderly, along with being a member of AARP Group #595 (Hampton).

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Frederick Freyer,

siblings, Donna (Freyer) Anderson and Cheryl (Freyer) Ley, and grandson, Kyle Fitzgerald. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Fred Wheeler, Sr.; her children, Fred (Karen) Wheeler, Jr., William Wheeler, and Sherri (Charles) Fitzgerald; her grandchildren: Craig Wheeler, Kellen (Kim) Wheeler, Stephen Wheeler, CJ (Brianna) Fitzgerald, Jasmine (T.J.) Chess, Evin Fitzgerald, Luke Fitzgerald, Emma Fitzgerald, Peyton Wheeler, Rian Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren Rob (Nicole) Schmidt, Amanda Repas, and Holly Repas; great-granddaughters Logan Wheeler and Marlo Wheeler, and her siblings Frederick (Louann) Freyer, William (Shirley) Freyer and Donald Freyer.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15116.

A funeral service will be held at Hampton Presbyterian Church, 2942 East Hardies Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. (Meet at the Church.) A graveside ceremony will be held immediately after at Mt. Royal Cemetery.
