Cary Austin Murphy, 75, of New Oxford, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Cary was born Wednesday, February 6, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late, John L. and Edith (Albert) Murphy.
In addition to his parents, Cary was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia A. Fischer, survived by her husband, Bill.
Cary proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a devout Marine and received several medals including; National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter Rifle Badge. Cary enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, he even operated his own store, America's Past Antiques, in New Oxford for 33 years. He collected and sold spinning wheels and lamps and Civil War tools, weapons, and artifacts. Cary loved to go to Gettysburg and other famous Civil War locations to site see and find Civil War collectables.
Left to cherish his memory, are his sister, Robin Dolan and her husband, John, of Allison Park, PA; brother, John Murphy and his wife, Ensie, of Orlando, FL; sister, Gail Fanning and her husband, Donald, of Phoenix, AZ; special friends, Mike and Sue Frazier and family, and Barbara Yandrasitz; Cary also leaves behind his son, Justin Murphy and his wife, Misty; granddaughter, Lainey all of New Castle, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA, on Friday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow, at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be held in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA, where Military Honors will be Accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cary's name to a charity of choice.
