IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernard John
Schaltenbrand
February 19, 1959 – October 29, 2025
Bernard John Schaltenbrand, age 66, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, October the 29th, 2025. He passed away peacefully in the presence of family.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Donnelly) Schaltenbrand, step-father to Amy (Terrence) Sahr, and grandfather to Savannah, Cheyenne, and Shane Sahr. He was the proud father of Heidi (Joseph) Moeller, Erika (Amir) Homapoor, Troy (Celeste) Schaltenbrand, and Greta Schaltenbrand, his children with Laura Schaltenbrand. He was the loving grandfather of Jackson, Lily, and Matthew Moeller. Son of the late Bernard Edward Schaltenbrand and Joan (Haas) Schaltenbrand; he was the loving brother of Mary (Curtis) Allison.
Ben graduated from the Electronics Institute of Pittsburgh, studied business at Robert Morris University, and was a project manager at Benshaw- Applied Motor Controls for the majority of his career. He also continued his industry work at Curtis Wright Corporation and Regal Beloit Corporation until he retired in 2019. Ben loved the outdoors and would spend time visiting national parks, local landmarks, and fishing around the country. He was the type of person that would add an hour to his travels just to see the leaves along an old state highway or overlook a waterfall he had seen on a map. He loved taking fishing trips with family members and particularly enjoyed sharing that experience with his grandkids.
Funeral arrangements will be private.
