It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Albert A. Tempert, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the age of 89. Albert was born on November 26, 1935, to Josephine and Alphons Tempert.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his sister, Josephine Lyons, and his godson Gary Lyons. He is survived by his sons Steven and Allen (Mary Pat), two grandsons, Alex and Zackary (Ashley), his partner Diane Miller, his sisters Alice Tempert and Carol (Jim) Schaffer, and his brother Harold (Kitty). He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Mark Tempert, Janine Tempert, Linda Reichard, Julie Hanna, Karen Lyons, Diann Clark, Shawn Endler, and Stacie Doman, as well as many other family members and friends.
A proud graduate of Peabody High School in 1953, Albert served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He spent much of his career working for the Pittsburgh School District and dedicated over 40 years as a skilled sheet metal worker.
Albert had a wide range of interests and passions. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and he enjoyed volunteering at the Frick Art Museum. For many years, he was a dedicated member of a community choir, where his love for music brought joy to those around him. Albert was also a passionate traveler, enjoying many adventures with friends and family.
His warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Albert's memory will be cherished by his family and loved ones, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 12–8 p.m. at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116. A Blessing Service will be held the following day on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
